The SIGCHI Student Travel Grant (SSTG)

The SIGCHI Student Travel Grant (SSTG) program is intended to enable students who lack other funding opportunities to attend SIGCHI sponsored or co-sponsored conferences. This travel grant is intended to support students whose intention is to present at a SIGCHI sponsored conference, not just attend.

The SIGCHI Student Travel Grant program provides needs based financial assistance to students who hope to present at selected SIGCHI sponsored or co-sponsored conferences. Each award includes a complimentary registration to attend the conference applied for, and a travel grant of up to $1,500 USD to partially cover travel expenses including, costs of travel (economy flights only), accommodation, subsistence, and other expenses necessary for attending the conference.

More details can be found at http://www.sigchi.org/conferences/funding/student-travel-grant

The application deadline is 1st May 2016

ACM-W Scholarships for Attendance at Research Conferences

ACM-W provides support for women undergraduate and graduate students in Computer Science and related programs to attend research conferences. This exposure to the CS research world can encourage a student to continue on to the next level (Undergraduate to Graduate, Masters to Ph.D., Ph.D. to an industry or academic position). The student does not have to present a paper at the conference she attends.

Note that the ACM-W scholarship has a rolling deadline, based on conference date. For CHI PLAY, applications should be made after 15th June 2016 with a deadline of 15th August 2016.
