Changes to the CHI PLAY 2021 Review Process

  • Post category:reviews

Our motivation is to improve the review process, while also easing the burden of review. We are also concerned with welcoming different contribution types while managing the complexities of interdisciplinary evaluation. Authors identify the contribution type, to make clear what methodological approach they employ. Reviewers self-identify their expertise with both the topic and the method. Review form focuses feedback into three evaluation criteria: the context of the contribution, the method, and the clarity of the contribution. Reviewers no longer ‘rate’ the paper, but instead provide recommendations of Accept, Major revisions, Minor revisions, and Reject. In the second round of reviews, only recommendations of Accept and Reject are provided. We welcome feedback on the review form, process changes, contribution types, or any other aspect raised by these changes. Please email papers@chiplay.acm.org to ask for clarifications or suggest changes.
