We planned a few activities for our online participants to enjoy and to connect online and onsite participants. This page gives an overview of the activities, but keep an eye on the conference Discord for announcements and smaller activities (your access link to Discord will be emailed shortly before the conference).
Wednesday, 2nd November
Online Game Night – After the keynote ~7.30 pm (UTC+1)
Let’s play board games together. We will have premium accounts for our SVs on boardgamearena.com/ so we can choose from the wealth of board games available to play. Have a look beforehand, and check Discord to join a group!
Friday, 4th November
Hybrid Coffee Breaks – 11-11.30 am (UTC+1) & 3.30-4 pm (UTC+1)
The coffee breaks on Day 2 of the conference will be hybrid. For onsite participants, there will be two tables with tablets, Zoom sessions and a sweet surprise in the room Lloyd in the middle of the WiP posters. Online participants: watch out for the Zoom link on Discord to join the coffee breaks!
Interactivity & SGDC Streams – start 18.30 pm (UTC+1)
As the SGDC and Interactivity primarily happen onsite, we will have a team of SVs going around and streaming the exhibitions to our online participants. Online participants can ask questions and get a feeling for the atmosphere. Check Discord for the links and exact times!
All days
Gaming, Chatting and Cooking – self-organised
There is plenty to do together with the other conference attendees. We will have a bunch of socializing Discord channels – so make sure you explore the CHI PLAY 2022 Discord, whether you are joining us online or as an onsite attendee. You could play some casual games like gartic phone or skribbl.io. Find meal buddies and maybe even meet virtually for a cooking session during the “lunch” break? How about being adventurous and making some traditional ‘Labskaus’? Here is a recipe: https://mybestgermanrecipes.com/north-german-labskaus-recipe/ We also have channels for the different research topics of CHI PLAY – so join them and talk about your research with fellow community members. And do not forget to make an appointment for the mentoring event!
