CHI PLAY 2022 will feature a mentoring event for early career researchers, particularly PhD researchers and post-doctoral researchers. As part of the mentoring event, we want to offer attendees an opportunity for more structured networking, connecting them with peers at the same career stage and more senior mentors, who have kindly agreed to give their time.
For in-person attendees, we will offer a mentoring lunch on Saturday, November 5th, during which attendees will be matched with one or two more conference attendees at the same career stage and a mentor (typically a more senior member of our community). Lunch boxes will be provided at the venue, and attendees can either sit together there, or go for a walk.
For online attendees, we will offer a mentoring event, for which they will likewise be matched with one or two conference attendees at your career stage and a more senior mentor. It is up to the other participants to find a suitable time for this event – we will put everyone in touch with each other, and attendees will have to take it away from there. In this way, we hope to accommodate different time zones.
To register for the mentoring event, please go to https://forms.gle/xFKF74uJxC5byN5x8. Registration closes on Monday, October 24th.
Would you like to volunteer your time as a mentor? Please reach out to gc@chiplay.acm.org before Monday, October 24th.
Please note that you must be registered for CHI PLAY 2022 to be able to take part in this event.
