Main Venue – Tampere Hall (Tampere-talo)

Pre-Conference Venues

On Day 0 of the conference (October 14), various pre-conference events, such as workshops, Doctoral Consortium, industry events, and welcoming reception will be held at other pre-conference venues, including Tampere UniversityPaidia, and The Finnish Museum of Games. Tampere University is a leading institution known for its innovative research and interdisciplinary approach to education. Paidia is Tampere universities’ common, open space, where different events, education, research, collaboration and student activities can be held. The space is located in the Nokia Arena which is near University’s City centre campus. Paidia space and its modern technology enable science and research to be presented to also new audiences.

You can find the route to Paidia via Nokia Arena’s Entrance A. Go through the gates on your left and to the 3rd floor via stairs or escalators. You can also reach Paidia by elevator by going through Entrance A, heading to the right and taking the elevator to the 3rd floor. Located in Tampere, the Finnish Museum of Games is the first museum of gaming in Finland, one of the first ones in the world, and one of the largest game museums in Europe. The Museum’s collection includes over 10 000 games and consoles from different eras, including Commodore 64, Atari and Nintendo. The museum offers an insight into the history of games, the development of the games industry and the impact of games on society.
